Bugatti Tourbillon

The ultimate automobile-inspired grand complication

Bugatti Tourbillon was created following an integrated design process between Jacob & Co. and Bugatti Automobiles. Its lines, details, case, movement, dials and general architecture were created together as one. It has the same engine as the Bugatti Tourbillon. It has the same design features as Bugatti's latest hyper sports car. It fells and looks like the ultimate V16, hybrid, 0-300 kph-in-10-seconds automobile. It also has the same name.

To emulate the current Bugatti engine architecture, the Bugatti Tourbillon features a V16 engine block automaton made of pure sapphire crystal. It's powered by a single crankshaft, with 16 pistons. The engine sequence lasts 20 seconds. On a single wind of its 2 dedicated barrels, the automaton can run up to 20 times. 

The tourbillon that regulates the movement inside the Jacob & Co. Bugatti Tourbillon is very fast. Its rotation period is 30-seconds, like a double-pace tourbillon.

The indication panel of the Bugatti Tourbillon by Jacob & Co. emulates the layout of the Bugatti Tourbillon dashboard. On the left, the 30-second flying tourbillon. On the right, a double, concentric indicator for the movement's and the automaton's power reserves.

In the center, the rpm-counter-inspired hour and minute dial contains a unique set of complication : the hours are jumping and retrograde and the minutes are retrograde.

Jacob & Co. is proving to be a most frequent and inventive proponent of automaton timepieces, combined with highly complicated display and a one-of-a-kind tourbillon, wrapped inside the ultimate hyper sports car-themed case.
