A flower tourbillon in a field of light
High watchmaking and high jewelry are pollinated by creativity and poetry. Jacob & Co. elevates all the components of The Mystery Tourbillon 44MM in a world first of lavish refinement.
In a field of baguette-cut white diamonds, a triple-axis, flying, central tourbillon acts as a revolving flower. Its carriage is crowned by an aerial setting of 9 polygonal-cut white diamonds surrounding a central, Jacob-cut, 288-facet diamond.
The 44-mm space is saturated with the light of 510 white, hexagon-cut diamonds set on the white gold case, for 23.75 carats. Every single one of these gems is baguette-cut, and all of them are invisibly-set, a Jacob & Co. signature technique. The gold that holds them is kept hidden, invisible, thus leaving gems front and center.
Row upon row of pure white diamond light, scattered at horologically strategic places with blue sapphire indices and two mysterious rubies, creates a wide, bright and elegant composition. And once every 2 minutes, a flower emerges from the depths of the movement, rising to align with its surroundings in perfect concentric alignment.
That flower is the triple-axis, flying, central tourbillon. The Mystery Tourbillon 44MM features the only tourbillon carriage so abundantly set with large gems. The 288-facet, Jacob-cut diamond weighs an unprecedented 0.5 carat. Together with the 9 surrounding diamonds, they rest directly on the carriage, spinning constantly in a high watchmaking tour de force.
The display principle of The Mystery Tourbillon 44MM is a nod to the mysterious clocks. Here, the minutes and hours are located on rings, where each time marker is a baguette-cut ruby. A third ring bears twelve hour markers, made of blue sapphires.
The Mystery Tourbillon 44MM is a culmination of Jacob & Co.'s art of gem setting, elevated with a high complication movement and dedicated to women.
