The Dune

Nectere, a new horology brand founded in 2024 by James Wong and Tony Yip, today announced the launch of its highly anticipated debut watch collection, "Order From Chaos." This unique collection of mechanical manual wind watches is a playful and artistic interpretation of the profound "butterfly effect" concept, aiming to serve as a daily reminder of life's intricate connections and the impact of individual actions.

The "Order From Chaos" collection features three distinct dial offerings: The Forest (Green), The Dune (Sand), and The Mist (Silver). Each model is meticulously crafted and limited to just 175 pieces, emphasizing exclusivity and artistry.

Inspired by Edward Lorenz's "butterfly effect," Nectere's watches are more than just time-keeping devices; they are philosophical art pieces. "We hope to create an art piece that serves as a physical embodiment of our seemingly chaotic lives, and a daily reminder of our actions – the butterfly effect of life and decisions. It’s less about keeping time and more about reflecting on where we’ve come from, where we are, and where we’re going – a thread through time," states the Nectere team.

The design of the "Order From Chaos" collection subtly integrates the concept of chaos theory. The 38mm wide, 40.5mm lug-to-lug, and 8.5mm slim case, made from 316L mirror-polished and brushed stainless steel, features a 4-step design with subtle undulations along the bezel, representing irregularities in a chaotic system.

The bevelled and stepped case back mimics this, tapering to a slim edge akin to a pebble. The watches are rated to 3ATM (30m) water resistance and are powered by a Seagull ST-17 Ultra-thin Manual Movement. A domed sapphire crystal protects the front, while a K1 crystal offers an open-heart window at the caseback. Each watch is fitted with an 18mm genuine leather strap, made in Hong Kong.
