Description

More than a watch, Royale Saphir stands as PEQUIGNET’s Haute Horlogerie signature. This family, created in 2019, returns with a new collection “Ombres et Lumières”. Designed and manufactured to enhance Pequignet’s haute horlogerie movement, Royale Saphir is adorned with a sapphire dial that is transparent, semi-transparent or opaque. It highlights the three counters of the legendary triple jump date on the Calibre Royal®. This iconic piece by PEQUIGNET, previously only in blue, is now available in new colours to adapt to everyone’s tastes and styles. For this first series of five watches, PEQUIGNET has chosen to play with the purity of white, the shades of grey and the timeless chic of black. It’s inspired by the phenomena of shadows and lights caused by the sun. Royale Saphir thus reinvents itself between the bright white of the dawn, the veiled light of the eclipse, the grey of the shadows, the subtly colored light of a parelia black or the deep black of night. Royal Saphir «Ombres et Lumières» watches stand out for their elegant and surprising contemporary aesthetic.

The Calibre Royal by Manufacture PEQUIGNET, which drives the Royale Saphir, marks the renewal of French watchmaking excellence. It is the first and only French-made mechanism to integrate its watchmaking complications on the same plate. Its design involved the filing of 8 international patents. Outstanding performance, precision and reliability make it a universally recognized movement. The dial on the Royale Saphir plays between subtle contrasts and transparencies. It highlights the moon phase complication and the performance of its 88-hour power reserve. It transcends its double aperture as well as its spectacular instant jump large date and day display. Dressed in a rounded 42mm case, the Royale Saphir is a real watchmaking feat which fascinates both lovers of exceptional watchmaking and aesthetes. Designed and assembled at the Morteau Manufacture in France, the “Ombres et Lumières” collection is renewed in five versions with different contrasts : Dawn White, Eclipse White, Shade Grey, Black Parhelion , Night Black. Other colours will complete the Royal Saphir story in 2023.

Sustainability

Aware of its environmental and social responsibilities, Pequignet does everything possible to source as locally as possible. This is why all the components of its three Manufacture movements are sourced less than 80km from Morteau, in France and in Switzerland. Each timepiece is designed to withstand the aggressions of time: sapphire crystal, watchmaking-grade gold and steel, screwed caseback; each component, if not completely unalterable, can always be repaired or replaced to ensure intergenerational transmission of our watches.
