Description

First introduced in 2024, the Gucci Interlocking collection is expanded this year with a new 41mm pink gold model, hand set with a mosaic of different-sized diamonds. Like its predecessors, the watch features a striking 10.7mm cushion-shaped case that houses a flying tourbillon embellished with the GG motif as well as a jumping hours complication.

The case is finished with a rich diamond decoration of scintillating stones in varying diameters, brilliantly catching the light. Its innovative multi-layered black dial features a hand-lacquered hour disc, subtly concealed by smoked sapphire glass, and a minute hand disc behind iridescent aventurine glass, which moves with the virtuosity of the oscillating weight behind it. The watch is completed with a black alligator strap.

Sustainability
Gucci is committed to the maximum use of recycled precious metals for its accessories hardware and jewellery by 2025, thus reducing the mining and extraction environmental impact associated with its use of virgin raw materials. Already, by the end of 2019, we met our 100% target for the use of recycled palladium coating for our metal hardware for our accessories, including bags, belts and shoes. Gucci’s gold purchase is made through the Kering Responsible Gold Framework, which was developed by Gucci’s parent company – Kering – as an innovative and smart way to source responsible and ethical gold. From November 2016, 100% of gold used for JWL is sourced through the Kering Precious Metals Platform (PMP) framework, which allows for centralized sourcing of gold and other precious metals in an ethical, responsible and transparent way. For all gold bought via the PMP, the Houses pay a premium that goes towards a fund to support responsible gold producers and mining communities, offering social and environmental benefits. Sourcing options available via the PMP include gold that is Fairmined or Fairtrade certified, from small scale mines whose practices have been verified by the Group, 100% recycled from electronic or jewelry waste, and RJC Chain of-Custody (CoC) certified. The programme includes a dedicated fund to support Fairmined and/or Fairtrade artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) and on-the-ground social and environmental projects within mining communities. For example, the Kering Gold Fund has contributed to the reforestation in French Guiana of an area of 116 hectares of Amazonian forest by planting 214,780 trees (a four-year project that began in 2018), and has also partnered with NGO Solidaridad to focus on empowering women in the vicinity of gold mines in Ghana. As a member of the Watch & Jewellery Initiative 2030 (WJI 2030) – launched in 2022 by Kering and Cartier – Gucci is fully committed to the Initiative’s ambitious goals which will help drive sustainable transformation within the global watch and jewellery sector. WJI 2030 is a global initiative open to all Watch and Jewellery players with a national or international footprint committed to a common core of key sustainability goals in three areas: building climate resilience, preserving resources, and fostering inclusiveness.
