DC89 BLACK – Si Drive

With the DC89 Chronograph, DAMASKO has ventured into a new dimension of watchmaking. After years of experience in the manufacture of cases, movements and specialized components, coupled with in-depth expertise in silicon technology, the DC89 Chronograph with second time zone presents itself - a masterpiece of technical precision and timeless aesthetics.

Inside, the new generation of the DAMASKO SIC-Spring silicon assembly, consisting of a silicon escape wheel and silicon hairspring, ensures maximum accuracy and precision of the timepiece. As a result, the new C51-7 chronograph movement sets new standards in terms of the longevity and durability of mechanical movements.

But that's not all. At the heart of the DC89 is an absolute world first: the chronograph displays a second time zone (GMT) at 3 o'clock in conjunction with the central minute counter. In addition, the display provides a precise reading of the hour and minute from the center, as well as the functions of the central stop second and stop minute. The date display is clearly legible at 6 o'clock.

The timepiece is encased in a proven, ice-hardened stainless steel housing with a continuous DAMEST coating, providing maximum protection against scratches and all external influences. The integrated magnetic field cage with magnetic shielding, along with anti-magnetic escape wheels and silicon balance springs, ensures reliable protection in accordance with military standards. Despite this, the chronograph retains a relatively slim case height of just 13.80 mm. The complete “DAMASKO System,” including a screw-down crown and crown guard, also ensures water resistance up to 100 meters.

The design of the DC89 focuses on a clean, instrument-like, and highly legible display, enriched with numerous special details. The rotating bezel features deeply laser-engraved numerals filled with a highly durable 2k paint and includes a luminous capsule at the 12 o’clock position. The dial is constructed on multiple levels, featuring turned subdials in a matte black finish. Applied 3D indices, bead-blasted and nickel-plated, and coated with Swiss Superluminova C1X1, enhance the dial’s sophistication. The surrounding scale ring, positioned on a lower level, further improves readability through its 3D effect. At the lower center of the chronograph, the orange “Si-Drive” inscription indicates the presence of silicon components within.

The emphasis on time indication is also reflected in the color scheme: the minute counter hand is marked with an orange stick tip, and the GMT hand features an orange outline with Superluminova.
