Blue & White Spirit Seafire

Since the creation of Speake-Marin in 2002, the English watchmaker creates in his Swiss workshop high-end watches with their distinctive design. Inside of the Piccadilly case we find here the most utilitarian of all Speake-Marin collections: The Spirit.

The Spirit Seafire is Speake-Marin’s first chronograph. In addition to the chronograph counters with the minute counter at 12 o'clock and hours at 6, this timepiece features a date display window at 3 o'clock and a seconds wheel at 9 o'clock. In 2015, this model brought new color to its dial parrying red, blue or orange and this year, Speake-Marin adds two new dials each in a limited edition of 28 pieces to continue the collection.

Two limited editions of 28 watches? The idea was to create very limited editions to allow Peter Speake-Marin to realize multiple new ideas he has in mind by creating ephemeral collections, without adding numerous watches to the existing collection.

For these models, as for the rest of Seafire collection, Peter Speake-Marin was inspired by the British military and pilots watches of 60 years ago to make the vintage designs of the chronograph.
“I have always wanted a chronograph to bear the Speake-Marin name,” says Peter Speake- Marin. “It was just a matter of finding the right platform. The Speake-Marin Spirit collection struck me as the perfect environment.”

To obtain a greater legibility of the dials, Peter has chosen to use Arabic numbers for the minutes counter and Roman numerals for the hours counter. Roman numerals are rare on the chronographs dials and this touch of refinement makes it a distinctive symbol of the Spirit collection.

A collection whose passionate motto of Peter Speake-Marin "Fight, Love & Persevere" is engraved on the case back of each watch. Much more than a motto for the creator, it is a lifestyle.
