Description

ArtyA, known for revolutionizing unique pieces with its core collections – butterflies, Russian roulette, Shams, Race, Guitar and others – has recently been focusing on high complications, integrating its in-house designed tourbillon with other complications (like the minute repeater) and with métier d’art.

In keeping with this direction, ArtyA is proud to introduce the Gold Marquetry Tourbillon Piece Unique.

The movement powering this incredible timepiece is the in-house ArtyA flying tourbillon, and a great deal of work has been done on the front and back of the watch to make it truly unique.

The incredible hand-engraved, gold inlay dial by Bram Ramon is on a foundation of blued steel. Inspired by the fire-blued screws and hands found on traditional timepieces, this is the first time this technique has been used on a dial. The blued steel takes a master’s touch, as too much heat results in a ruined dial, while too little heat means the color won’t be perfect.

Master engraver Bram Ramon inlayed a combination of three different types of gold; yellow gold, green gold, pink gold and platinum were used to create this wonderful “marquetry” design. This ancient inlay technique is used for the first time ever in the world of horology It traces back to high-end weapon engraving techniques.

“To master inlays of three different gold in one tiny dial is not only a first worldwide but as well a real work of art,” says Yvan Arpa, owner of ArtyA.

“I am really excited to offer these high complications with unique artistic approaches. As Hippocrates said, ‘Life is short, art is eternal.’”
On the back of the flying tourbillon movement, Côte de Genève and perlage finishing is mixed, with skeletonized back bridges which allows light to go through the tourbillon cage. This special mixture of watchmaking and métier d’art is like nothing that has ever been done before. Something ArtyA is known for.
