Description
Philosophical reflection was initiated by the introduction of rust to the art of watchmaking, a symbol of a new ‘Art of Time'. The oxidation owes its pedigree to its noble roots since it results from an extraordinary fusion process. Original steel that was reclaimed from the wreck lying 3840 meters below the ocean has been combined with new steel to form the fused metal. The new metal was supplied by Harland & Wolff in Belfast, where the Titanic was built nearly a century ago. The resulting High]end watch inspired and designed to pay tribute to the great legends of our time timepiece has strong emotional and historical value that a privileged few will be able to offer as a historical trophy. A true testimony that life goes on and that it should be celebrated.

It's a well-known fact that rust is the enemy of the watchmaking world. Rust provides irrefutable proof of the fact that time passes. Centuries of measurements and calculations have reflected man's desire to master this concept that continually escapes him.

The Day&Night subscribes to a different complementary and philosophical approach that is eager to shed new light on the concept of time.

We present a timepiece without the hours, minutes and seconds indication function. This piece offers a new measurement of time revolving around two Tourbillions working in sequence. A world first for Romain Jerome.

In the first version of the timepiece, Romain Jerome proposes splitting the temporal world into two fundamentally opposed parts, day versus night.

The Day&Night is graced with the first Romain Jerome movement. It is the ‘RJ One', which was developed exclusively for RJ by BNB Concept. The timepiece comprises two Tourbillions based on a differential system whose energy transmission symbolises the passage from one life to another. A quirky, even disturbing step further shared by two friends, Yvan Arpa, CEO of RJ and Mathias Buttet, General Director of BNB Concept.

Each of the Tourbillion movements defines and counts a slice of life corresponding to twelve hours. The ‘Day' Tourbillion defines the working life of the individual and stops after 12 hours, handing over to the ‘Night' Tourbillion that is dedicated to man's own private sphere.
