Patravi T-ChronoGrade.

A masterpiece with a new design.

Chronograph, flyback, large date display, annual calendar, power reserve indication and retrograde hours counter. These useful Patravi ChronoGrade functions, united in a generous and individual tonneau-shaped case, make for an exceptionally clear and functional watch: The Patravi T-ChronoGrade. With its tonneau design, the model offers a deliberately formal counterpoint to classic watchmaking codes.

The most eye-catching feature of the new Patravi TChronoGrade is its design. The six useful functions are set in an individual, strikingly harmonious and exceptionally beautiful tonneau-shaped case. Without doubt, the most significant of these functions is the chronograph with its retrograde hours counter. After each rotation of the central chronograph hand, the minutes counter at 9 o'clock jumps to the next graduation mark. This, in turn, is connected to the hours counter by means of a sophisticated gear mechanism between 7 and 8 o'clock, which completes its own rotations. The corresponding hand moves downwards through a semicircular scale. When the hours counter reaches the end of its scale, it instantly springs back to its starting position and the process begins again. This retrograde counter distinguishes the Patravi T-ChronoGrade quite significantly from other chronographs and, clearly, is also what gives this exceptional watch its name.

An equally exceptional feature will appeal to people in high demand with little time. Take pilots in cockpits, for example, who are in the holding pattern waiting to land and have to fly in standard loops or use their watch for easier navigation. It simply takes too long and is too cumbersome to stop, reset and restart the chronograph before each new circuit. This is why resourceful watchmakers invented the “flyback” function in the 1930s. One press of the push-piece is enough to restart the chronograph directly, without having to stop it first.

The Patravi T-ChronoGrade's features do not stop there, however. The large date display, which is the size of two standard date windows, easily catches the eye with a single glance at the generously designed dial. The mechanically high-tech calendar accommodates the varying 30 and 31 day months. The owner will only be required to make an adjustment at the end of February using the crown, which resets the watch completely for the following year. If the watch has to be stored unexpectedly in a safe for a long period of time, the analog month display will help to reset the annual calendar accurately.

Once fully wound, the automatic caliber CFB 1902 easily runs for a minimum of 42 hours at a time. A sophisticated combination of a high-low scale and a two-armed pointer set on a disk serves to display information about the current power reserve. This unique power reserve display has also been developed by Carl F. Bucherer.

In addition, at 43 mm x 46 mm, the Patravi T-ChronoGrade is considerably sized and, with its classy, striking design, suitable for discerning men and women who are always seeking perfection. Now, thanks to the Patravi TChronoGrade, these individuals will also be able to wear perfection on their wrists. With its host of functions and exceptional design, the Patravi T-ChronoGrade is both a charming mechanical masterpiece and the perfect option for all aesthete-connoisseurs of sophisticated timepieces.
