THE “GALET CLASSIC TOURBILLON DOUBLE BALANCE SPRING”
The “Galet Classic Tourbillon Double Balance Spring” is the first opus of a story due to last.
The “Tourbillon Double Balance Spring” is an exclusive creation, conceived and manufactured with the master watchmakers of La Fabrique du Temps. The movement is fitted with an escapement which has never been used before in a Tourbillon escapement: it features two inversed balance springs which allow the movement to average out the negative influence of the earth gravity by keeping the balance centre on its axis.
The tourbillon rotating cage is respecting the codes of the traditional watch making with engaging angles made by hand with an engraving tool. The tourbillon cage is only visible from the sapphire case back and confirms Laurent Ferrier's choice of being subtle and discreet.
The Tourbillon double balance spring movement is hand wound and offers an 80 hours power reserve. Precise and sturdy the calibre has been conceived in the least details to go through time and generations and testifies of 200 years old know-how.
This timeless style watch is inspired by great chronometers of the 19th century. Some elements recall “Chronometer Competition Watches” which showed the know-how of the greatest watchmakers.
We will find a winding system with a very soft design, without the modern check-spring for the pull-out piece. We also chose to use a long “blade” type click ratchet, polished and with a curved shape.
The case features a soft design and for the instance the boule shaped crown testifies of the legacy of the pocket watches and last but not least offers a great ergonomy.
It features also a lot of handcraft which can only be done by the expert hands of skilled and passionate watchmaker craftsmen.
