With the combination of the timelessness of Gold and the technical nature of Carbon, Phenomen audaciously affirms its avant-gardist DNA. For this Rose Gold-Carbon edition, Phenomen focuses on the finishing touch, alternating between several textures: polished, satin and blasted, and a juxtaposition of materials to create a dynamic combining elegance and character.

The Axiom collection by Phenomen features unprecedented design paired with precision mechanisms. The curves and surfaces allude to an aerodynamic style, directly inspired by car silhouettes, making Axiom a truly unique watch. Axiom has a powerful automotive heritage, the originality of its dial allows drivers to look at the time, without having to take their eyes off the road.

Having a two-level display ensures an unobstructed view of the time, as the hour and minute hands never overlap. The hour display is not only retrograde but also jumping. The needle runs from hour to hour, instantaneously and in a synchronized fashion. The hour and minute setting mechanisms have been separated, allowing easy and immediate access to both displays, in addition to avoiding any accidental adjustments. More specifically, this system allows wearers to change the hours faster when changing time zones, for example, without having to disturb the minutes. As a result, the watch sports two crowns, the minutes crown also being used to wind the piece. Both are located at 12 o’clock to ensure smooth access.

The desire to minimise Axiom’s external dimensions has resulted in an innovative architecture for the case and movement alike. The case is unusually complex, compelling the mechanism to be located at a higher level than in more classic designs, with the time displayed as though in an amphitheatre. This architecture results in a distinctive visual sensation, with spectacular staging of iconic mechanical components such as the balance wheel and escapement wheel. The real magic of the timepiece lies in this unlikely juxtaposition of the regulating organ and the time display; the source of the time and its representation appear side by side, while their mechanical connection stays concealed. The escapement mounting reigns in splendour at 12 o’clock – and does so without any visible link to the rest of the movement. In addition to delivering an optimised power supply, Axiom’s twin barrels in series provide a power reserve of over 100 hours – more than four days’ worth. The movement PH-010 is signed by Phenomen.
