1963 Rattrapante 70th Anniversary Special Edition
Power reserve: 45 h, 21600 vph
In 1963, the first aviation chronograph developed for the Chinese Air Force under the code "304" was assembled as a prototype, and successfully passed rigorous tests in 1965 before being officially commissioned. In the 2000s, the watch was reproduced and immediately garnered praise in the watch industry worldwide. For its 70th anniversary this year, Sea-Gull introduced the 1963 Rattrapante 70th Anniversary Special Edition. This watch is a tribute to a legendary timepiece and is notable as China's first split-seconds chronograph.
With its inherited Aviation collection design, the watch boasts a highly legible and multi-layered dial. Its color scheme is intentionally restricted to black, white, and Sea-Gull blue. The case is made of Grade 5 titanium. The blued hands have been meticulously refined to achieve visual balance and smooth movement. The dial is laser-engraved and features a handmade multi-layer coloring process that produces an exceptional effect.
The watch is powered by the in-house ST1961 split-second chronograph movement, which is developed based on the highly acclaimed ST1901 movement. The finish has undergone a comprehensive upgrade. The plates adopt a new polishing process, and components now feature a black polishing process.
