As a prelude to the prize-giving ceremony for the 11th Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix (GPHG) to be held in the Grand Théâtre on November 19th, some 350 privileged guests congregated in Geneva’s Cité du Temps on Tuesday November 8th to admire the 70 watches pre-selected by the jury to compete in this 11th edition. Press release | November 9th, 2011 This travelling exhibition, which has made stop-overs in Zurich, Hong Kong and Shanghai before being presented to the Geneva public from November 8th to 16th, represents one of the rare opportunities to see some of the finest contemporary timepieces united in one place.

Carlo Lamprecht, President of the GPHG Foundation, emphasised the strong media impact achieved by the exhibition in China, a success that was important “for the reputation of Switzerland and of its watch industry in a country that has become the leading client for this sector”. He also thanked the Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild, main partner of the GPGH, for its generous support “dedicated to promoting excellence and innovation”.
Carlo Lamprecht © point-of-views.ch As every year during the run-up to the prize-giving ceremony, the public is invited to vote for its favourite watch. In a few clicks on the www.gphg.org website, or on the spot at the Cité du Temps, internet users and visitors can thus vote for the recipient of the Public Prize and thereby take part in the prize draw to win a Frédérique Constant watch.
